Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania\u2019s most spectacular wildlife destinations and one of the best places in Africa to experience an incredible concentration of animals in a relatively small area. Formed from an ancient volcanic caldera, the crater is surrounded by dramatic highlands and features open grasslands, forests, wetlands and freshwater springs that support wildlife throughout the year.<\/p>
A game drive on the crater floor offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and large numbers of gazelles.
